Meet Shirley-Ann! She is not only the brains behind this operation, but she has also laid down the foundation of love that the CLASS program is built on. While she was still running her early learning program, The Children’s Place, she realized parents were in great need of childcare solely for after school children. And lo and behold a new elementary school was being built! In 2002, Shirley-Ann opened CLASS at Sussex Elementary. At 60 childcare spaces, she has designed a program specifically for school-age children. With a BEd in her back pocket, Shirley-Ann has continued her education journey through the years. She attended Wake-Up Schools and meditation retreats in France and New York. She also has her Yin-Yoga teacher Training Certificate and received training from renowned teachers such as Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield and Bodhipaksa.
